An Incomplete Story
Thank you for your contribution to HIV disclosure to sex partners.
According to the Scarborough Mirror on November 13, 2013, a man was arrested and charged in what police are calling an “aggravated sexual assault investigation” in a region of Ontario.
Police allege a man “had unprotected sex with a 53-year-old woman between May 2012 and February 2013 without disclosing he was HIV positive”. A photograph of him was posted accompanying the article as police urged “anyone who had sex with him to seek medical attention and contact a Detective Constable at a police station.
Where is the information and photograph about the person who agreed to have unprotected sex with out knowing their partner’s HIV status, thereby not taking responsibility for their own sexual health and well being? The story, as reported, is incomplete, legalities aside or legalities in need of further examination.
