Seeking Youth Volunteers To Develop An Interactive HIV Disclosure Workshop
How would you like potential sex partners to respond when you disclose your HIV status? Would you like to be a part of positive change while educating others on how they may reconsider their response to HIV disclosure on the dating scene? Would you like to share and help potential sex partners be aware of how their responses influence your ability to disclose your HIV status?
We are in the process of developing a workshop and accompanying manual for youth as a tool in helping you address HIV disclosure to potential sex partners. Prevention, testing, treatment, emotional support, legal responsibilities and various other services are available, but to date there is no concrete tool offered for you to use in the development of a space to discuss the complexities of disclosing your HIV status to potential sex partners.
We are seeking youth who want to be involved on a volunteer basis, in every step of the process from design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of an interactive, humour based, experiential workshop and accompanying manual by and for you. We want your input with creative ideas, direction and guidance in tackling disclosure complexities with potential sex partners which may include rejection, stigma, fear of disclosure resulting in the lack of intimacy and sex which is a basic fundamental human right and need.
If you are interested in lending your voice, experience, sense of humour and expertise in developing this tool for your community of youth, please contact The HIV Disclosure Project Team, providing a brief resume or summary introducing yourself, your experience and how you think you could contribute to firstname.lastname@example.org If you are an organization which works with youth we would appreciate your input and referrals. We assure your complete confidentiality with all inquiries.
